| NIFIS launches competence centre |

Frankfurt/Main, 17 October 2006 The national initiative of Internet Security (NIFIS e.V.) launches a new competence centre, which is occupied with the questions, problems and actual solutions of the topic “Identity Management”, the administration of digital identities. About one year ago Dr. Horst Walther, partner of “Kuppinger Cole und Partner” an well-known expert in this area, created the initiative GenericIAM for the growing importance of identity management. Around 20 companies (including companies listed in the DAX index) attend the initiative GenericIAM witch has joined the NIFIS to act from now on as a part of the initiative.Starting from November the past working group GenericIAM will consult under NIFIS and continue the work they performed the last year. “We are pleased that we have found a suitable organisation for Identity Management with NIFIS, so we can concentrate on our main tasks ”, says Dr. Horst Walther. “The fusion is also very important for the NIFIS, because the initiative GenericIAM plays on Identity Management as well as other topics a pioneering task. Identity Management plays an important roll for our members and the whole economy, especially in a time of growing digitization”, says Peter Knapp the leader of NIFIS e.V about the cooperation.
