Although we started at small scale and at national level – just in order to keep costs and effort low at the beginning – we are aware of the fact, that we will only be able to gain a major influence and eventually become a recognised standardisation body, when we will operate on a global scale.

To have a quick start, we positioned ourselves legally as a competence center "Identity Management " of the NIFIS e.V . , the National (German) Initiative for Information Security. 

With spring 2007 we started international operations by synchronising with The OpenGroup and the enisa .
